Wat Chalong is one of the most important symbols of Phuket built in the 19th century in honer of two highly respected monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who led the fight against the Chinese in 1876 and also helped injured with their knowledge of herbal medicine. In Phuket, there are 29 different Buddhist temples throughout the city because most Thai people are Buddhist and Chalong temple is one of the most important ones amount them.

Around Wat Chalong Phuket Temple, there are several small shops selling souvenirs, religious items and street foods and drinks, so don’t forget to have a look while you are around.

Poh Than Jao is an important statue in Wat Chalong Phuket, located in the old temple hall on the west side, along with two other statues, Ta Khee-lek and Nonsi In general temples are sacred among locals, so it is advisable for visitors to behave wisely.

You will also be asked to take off your shoes while entering some buildings but it is best not to wear expensive shoes when visiting temples because someone may mistakenly wear your shoes and go away.

3. Old Phuket Town - Map

4. Karon View Point (Kata Viewpoint) - Map

Karon View Point (Previously Kata Viewpoint) is one of the most popular view points in Phuket Island The Karon View Point is located on the West Bank, between Patong Beach in the north and Kata Beach in the south and wide enough that you will never feel crowded.

If you have a scooter, we strongly suggest you to visit this viewpoint on a beautiful sunny afternoon, the road to Karon View Point passes a lush tropical jungle and the road itself will be a great adventure, but please note that in some points it's really steep and if you don't have experience riding motorcycles it's better to use a taxi.

You are going to have an unforgettable view over the Kata and Karon beaches from there and also don’t forget that when you got there you can put some coins to use two strong binoculars fixed over the ocean.

5. Phuket Weekend Night Market - Map

The Phuket Weekend Market also known among locals as “Naka Market” is located in Phuket Town, near the Central Festival Shopping Mall. When you pass the Phuket town’s Central Festival toward Chalong using Jaofah Road, you should turn left at the first junction and after just three hundred meters, you will reach the Weekend Market entrance.

The market sells second-hand goods, antiques, animals and of course like every other local market in Thailand, Street food. As the name suggests, the Weekend Night Market is open only Saturdays and Sundays after 4PM.

6. Promthep Cape - Map

At the very south of Phuket island in the Rawai area, There is another wonderful viewpoint to visit while having a vacation in Phuket.

At Promthep Cape you can see one of Phuket's most indescribable prospects. As a romantic and memorable place Promthep cape offers a dreamy and memorable environment with sea-views and lush greenery for visitors, in fact, it is one of the most photographed spots of the Phuket Island.

There are many small shops that are selling handicrafts and souvenirs mainly made from shells in this location but Promthep Cape is mainly famous for the magical sunsets you can witness from its peak.

This is hot spot for young couples to take pictures during the sunset. If you are staying at The Chalong area or Rawai area it can be a great idea to jump on your scooter and ride toward the Promptep cape in a sunny day, just make sure to reach there before the sunset.
